SWEATY FATIGUES : ARTIST THOUGHTS.

CHRIS CHAMBERS
Chris leads the four boys. Tough on the outside but caring on the inside. He faces internal challenges in a family infamous in Castle Rock for causing trouble. Aware of his circumstances, he aims to break free from this generational curse. Chris is Gourdies' closest friend who fills the missing big brother role.
DAY OUTFIT: ARTIST THOUGHTS.
The inspiration for Chris’s casual clothing was Kiwi urban op shop street. Chris wears a vintage Canterbury rugby polo with a popping red decal across the front. The sharp decal represents Chris’s story of breaking free from the linear path of life set before him. His mullet fits his aesthetic of a cool street kid. Coming from an abusive family, he has visible scarring and markings on his face
TEDDY DUCHAMP
Teddy Duchamp a 12-year-old boy raised by his abusive father. Teddy has a wild nature to himself chasing the thrill and constantly gambling every decision in life. Within this adaptation, instead of his father being a WW2 veteran, his father is a crazy conspiracy theorist, and they live off-grid in a nearby rural house.
DAY OUTFIT: ARTIST THOUGHTS.
As Teddy is raised in a rural part of the town, his visual identity reflects how Kiwis wear hunting gear and short shorts no matter the weather for casual clothing.
He wears mismatched socks and laces relating to his character of a kid who doesn’t care about visual
appearance.
VERN TESSIO
Vern is the most sensitive and timid out of the boys. He isn’t very bright but brings a perfect dynamic to the group with his unintentionally funny exchanges. Brought up with loving parents and an older brother who struck fear into him. Within this adaptation, we keep his core origin true to his visual cues and backstory.

DAY OUTFIT: ARTIST THOUGHTS.
Verns costume tells a story of a sheltered boy who is probably dressed by his mother before he left the door. Can be found in his own little world, listening to music on his MP3 player. The colours and imagery evoke the opposite nature of what he actually feels inside. Accessories should he comes from a slightly well off family compared to his friends. Vern is well fed and visually out of shape and shorter than his friends. Vern is over-prepared and dressed warmly even in the summer.
